This is a picture of me with my daughter and granddaughter in shirts that I appliquéd. I offer shirts like these for sale here.
My husband Bob and I have two grown children, Ryan who is 27 and Diana, 25 who is married to Adam and they have given us a beautiful granddaughter, Jessica. I have been quilting for 17 years and teaching for 11 years. I have always enjoyed sewing and doing different crafts, but when I started quilting all that went out the window. I have exclusively quilted the past 17 years. The first two quilts I made I cut out each piece using a template and scissors, hand pieced and hand quilted. I realized right away that if I was ever to accomplish anything I needed to learn a faster way. I was introduced to rotary cutter, mat and rulers!!!! Oh, my what fun it was. When we moved to Sisseton, they were getting ready for the Centennial and I noticed an ad in the paper for quilts needed for a quilt show. I thought that I could help them out with a few of mine. I took in several and they talked me into entering a star quilt in the JUDGED portion of the show. It took first prize.
Then the I have since taught classes, done custom quilt making and hand quilting. I have branched out and purchased a Handiquilter and Brother 1500 machine. Now I teach classes in quilt shops that offer the Handiquilter for sale. I have also been machine quilting quilts for ladies that either do not have the time, interest or know how on my Handiquilter. I have really enjoyed this adventure. Another new adventure has been making the thread catchers. I have been wholesaling them to quilt shops with great success and repeat orders.
Here is some of my work.
